HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TRAINING COURSES

 

Title: HAZARDOUS MATERIALS CONTINGENCY PLANNING COURSE

Agency Offering Course: Ohio Emergency Management Agency

Target Audiences: Open to all officials responsible for public policy and strategic planning and response to hazardous materials emergencies. Applicants should represent local, State or Federal governments as well as the fire service, law enforcement, community planners, public works departments, health and environmental organizations.

Duration of Course: Five days

Scope and Content: A one-week course for emergency management personnel responsible for hazardous materials planning and coordination. The course has two parts: Part A - Emergencies including transportation use, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials; and Part B - Episodic releases of air toxic chemicals form fixed-site facilities. Emphasis is placed on interagency cooperation and the identification of technical assistance available. Successful resolution of hazardous materials emergencies is a shared responsibility. Topics include local, State, and Federal mechanisms to assist in planning and response. Other topics include tactical requirements, hazardous materials characteristics, and regulatory compliance.


Title: CAMEO (Computer Aided Management of Emergency Operations) WORKSHOP

Target Audience: Ohio Emergency Management Agency

Duration of Course: Two days

Scope and content: This course identifies the various parts of the CAMEO application as well as initial instruction for use of all software.
