What do I do if I can't attend
a meeting?
Members are usually contacted a few days before
the meeting to verify attendance. However, if you are certain you will
be unable to attend, please have your alternate attend. If neither of
you can attend, please contact the MGCLERC information coordinator at
(937) 223-6323 or e-mail at infocoordinator@mgclerc.org
How many meetings must I
attend yearly?
The MGCLERC meets four times a year on the
last Friday of each January, April, July, and October. As a member, you
are expected, at a minimum, to attend these meetings. If you are involved
in subcommittees, there will be more meetings based upon the need.
Why is it important
that I attend the quarterly meetings?
Emergency response planning involves constantly
evolving information, techniques, and rule changes. Effective emergency
response requires that all involved parties know what role they play
in an emergency situation. The MGCLERC was formed to ensure all those
involved communicate on a regular basis. Attendance at these meetings
ensures communication and keeps you up-to-date with all changing requirements.
How can I learn more
about what is expected from me as a MGCLERC member?
Why does my organization belong to MGCLERC?
Many different kinds of organizations are needed
to develop an emergency response plan. Emergency response requires the
coordination of many organizations (especially prior to an emergency
event), not just one entity.
You have been appointed to the MGCLERC in order
to bring your area of expertise to the planning process.
What if our MGCLERC member or alternate
leaves our organization?
Replacement of MGCLERC members involves sending
the information coordinator the name of the requested replacement member
or alternate. This name will be recommended to the County Commissioners
for final approval by the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC).
Contact the MGCLERC information coordinator at (937) 223-6323 or e-mail
he/she at infocoordinator@mgclerc.org.
